Application

 

         Constantan is an alloy metal with high resistivity. It is a copper alloy containing 40% nickel and 1.5%

manganese. It has low temperature coefficient of resistivity and medium resistivity (resistivity is 0.48 μ Ω· m). It can

be used in a wide temperature range. It is suitable for use in AC circuit, such as precision resistance, sliding

resistance, resistance strain gauge, etc. it can also be used as thermocouple and thermocouple compensation wire

material. The copper wire is silver.



        Manganin is a resistance alloy mainly composed of copper, manganese and nickel. It has high resistivity, small

temperature coefficient of resistance, low thermal potential to copper and excellent long-term stability of resistance.

It is the main material for making standard resistor, resistance element and shunt resistance. Manganin wire is

copper yellow.
